The AOG is allows you the chance to look at Alternative GT Maintenance Solutions and Strategies pertaining to the repair, service and maintenance of your Alstom Gas Turbine(s). This Seminar will deliver informative presentations from leading independent turbine maintenance services providers, as well as provide a forum for open discussions with other end-users. Overview and Objective: The Liburdi Turbine Services workshop will explain Superalloy metallurgy as it applies to gas turbine components. We will look at component damage experienced from gas turbine service exposure and the techniques used to analyze the remaining life of components removed from service. We will compare and contrast protective coatings, component repair technologies, and repair quality assurance techniques. The workshop includes many case study examples, and the last section is devoted to a workshop where attendees develop component repair solutions. Participants may submit questions in advance regarding repair issues faced in their jobs. This course is specially catered to professionals who are involved with the technology or business of gas turbines in the oil & gas and power generation industries.

  • Section I: Introduction: Why repair and refurbish parts?
  • Section II: Gas Turbine Nomenclature: A review of typical gas turbine components and the respective environment they withstand.
  • Section III: Materials and Metallurgy: Gas Turbine materials and their properties.
  • Section IV: GT Coatings: This section covers the typical coatings utilized in GT’s such as Anti‐ Corrosion, Wear Surface and Thermal Barrier Coatings.
  • Section V: Degradation Characteristics in GT Components: Degradation modes such as creep, LCF, etc. and their effects on Gas Turbine Components.
  • Section VI: Component Evaluation: The evaluation of used components and determination of the repair/refurbishment process will be discussed.
  • Section VII: Refurbishment & Repair Processes: Procedures and techniques used to restore components to industry standards.
  • Section VIII: Quality Assurance: Methods and procedures to verify components meet industry standards.
  • Section IX: Vendor Selection & Verification
  • Section X: Case Studies & Problem Solving:

Course attendees will be given a continental breakfast, lunch a workbook, CD of presentation materials and an attendance certificate. Attendees that complete the course are subject to earn 8 Professional Development Hours
